Taking a bad photo of a cat is almost impossible. They have a natural talent for posing perfectly still and looking fabulous without blinking. This is exactly what drew me to the captivating photographs of Cara and Yuna that I stumbled upon on Instagram. Their images are simply mesmerizing, showcasing their gorgeous features in the most flattering light. The credit for these breathtaking photographs goes to their talented cat mom who has perfected her technique over time. Through her lens, these cats come to life with their unique personalities shining through. Do you ever wonder how pets get their names? Well, for me, choosing my cats’ names was a thoughtful process. My first cat, Cara, was named by the breeder as Fortuna, which means “gift from heaven”. While I appreciated the meaning, I wanted a name that better expressed her value as my happy maker. I searched for a suitable name and found Cara, which means “valuable” and it was perfect for her. As for my second cat, Yuna, I got her as a kitten, so she didn’t have a name yet. Her playful and cute character inspired me to choose a name that matched her personality. Thus, I settled on Yuna, which means “the young, blooming one” and “the friendly one”. Both of my cats’ names are fitting for them and I couldn’t imagine calling them anything else.
What is their dynamic like? Their relationship is unpredictable and can vary from day to day. Some days they exhibit hostility towards each other, often hiding in separate rooms and growling when they pass each other. However, on other days they show affection and cuddle with each other on the sofa, grooming and cleaning each other. Their behavior is also influenced by their hunger levels. These two felines are quite different from each other. What are their personalities like? Cara is a calm and collected cat that tends to be shy around strangers. Nevertheless, once she trusts someone, she becomes very affectionate and loves to be cuddled. Cara is mild-mannered and gentle, and she never engages in any form of bickering or fighting. Yuna is a blend of different personalities, making her unique and entertaining. She is playful, mischievous, and loves to run around the apartment. Yuna is also very affectionate, responding like a dog and purring happily. She exhibits all of the typical cat behaviors and seems to enjoy catching bats on the balcony before coming to cuddle with her owners.
What are the hobbies that Cara and Yuna enjoy the most? Cara loves to relax and bask in the sun or snuggle up with her owner. However, when she sees feather toys, she becomes a skilled huntress and catches every fly that flies around. On the other hand, Yuna is always full of energy and loves to jump up walls or doors during her crazy five minutes. She also loves to meow loudly. The two cats enjoy watching birds from the balcony on days with good weather and can spend the entire day outside. How can you capture stunning photos of your cats? As an amateur photographer, I am constantly learning and improving my skills. My husband and I received a new camera for Christmas to support our professional development in the creative direction. I love building new sets for my cats and experimenting with different techniques to capture their personalities. Currently, my most creative project has been the feather series. However, we are planning a new series with a sales truck and are incorporating ideas from our friends. I am excited to see how this project turns out in a few weeks.
Do you know what makes Cara and Yuna unique? These two feline buddies have been my constant companions through thick and thin. They, along with my beloved dog Benji, have shared many ups and downs with me, and have become an integral part of my family. I’m overjoyed that they get along famously with my little daughter. Our home may be a little chaotic at times, but with the cats and dog around, it feels complete.
