Dwayne Johnson rose to next-level success after his portrayal as Luke Hobbs in Fast 5. The critics and fans loved his role as the Diplomatic Security Service agent in the movie.
However, after appearing in four Fast and Furious movies and a spin-off, DJ left the franchise because of a beef with Vin Diesel.
Over the past few years, we saw several times when Diesel and Johnson talked about each other in their interviews. Similarly, The Rock once took a shot at the 55-year-old actor and the entire cast.
Dwayne Johnson, once called Fast and Furious unprofessional
The beef between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel has become personal over the years. In 2016, The Rock shared a post on Instagram in which he took a shot at the entire Fast and Furious cast.
He was filming the 8th installment of the franchise while calling out the male co-stars for their unprofessional attitudes while filming. However, he later deleted the post quickly.
The Rock said, “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es.”
He added, “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.” (H/T Buzzfeed)
By the end of filming DJ’s last movie of the franchise, things were heated up between them. Once TMZ also shared an article in which they stated DJ and VD had a couple of secret meetings after the explosive Facebook post.
The primary reason behind their beef was because of the F9 star being the producer of the film. The 10-time world champion did not like some decisions that Diesel made and hence, there was an argument between the two.
Also, several cast members were angry at Johnson for revealing the behind-the-scenes photos ahead of the filming being completed.
The Rock once called Vin Diesel’s request to join the franchise, a “manipulation”
After The Fate of the Furious, DJ made his intentions clear of not returning to the franchise. However, his character Luke Hobbs is an essential one and they requested him to return. Johnson refused to return and so Vin Diesel posted on social media requesting The Rock to join.
DJ said, “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.” (H/T Billboards)
Many were hoping The WWE legend and the F9 star settle their beef and work together again. Unfortunately, that is never going to happen and we might never see Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise in the future, but never say never.
