Well, that’s quite the surprise. Early this Friday morning, news broke out that top golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested near the Valhalla Golf Club. Scheffler, one of the top contenders in the ongoing PGA Championship, had a misunderstanding with some police officers. The golfer was subsequently arrested and detained. Jeff Darlington outlined the events in his tweet.
“Breaking News: World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has been detained by police in handcuffs after a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to his attempt to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club. The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla. The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs. He is now being detained in the back of a police car.”
Darlington also caught some footage from the arrest. The footage shows Scottie Scheffler being led to a police car by the officers. The footage is… interesting, to say the least.
That’s interesting footage, to say the least. Fans reacted to the video pretty negatively, with people calling out Louisville for these actions. Some said that they should not be allowed to host an event as big as the PGA Tournament again.
“Valhalla should never host a major again, period. Louisville is clearly not cut out for this type of event.”

Scottie Scheffler’s arrest, explained
Scheffler was arrested after what seemed to be a misunderstanding between him and some police officers. The golfer was trying to navigate through an accident that occurred near the PGA Championship location. An officer tried to flag him down, to no avail.

“After about 20 to 30 seconds, Scheffler rolled down his window to talk to the officer. The officer grabbed Scheffler’s arm to pull him out of the vehicle, according to Darlington. The officer reached inside the vehicle to open the door, and once Scheffler was pulled out, he was pushed against the car and placed in handcuffs.”
“According to Darlington, an officer instructed him to back away. “You need to get out of the way,” the officer told Darlington. “There’s nothing you can do. Scottie Scheffler is going to jail.””
