I’m honored to bring him to life in a way that fans old and new will appreciate.”
While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, insiders hint at a storyline that explores Blaze’s struggle with his demonic alter-ego and his quest for redemption. The film will also introduce new characters and villains, expanding the Ghost Rider universe in exciting ways. Fans have taken to social media to express their enthusiasm for Ackles’ casting. Many believe his experience in playing dark, tortured characters makes him a perfect fit for Johnny Blaze.
The combination of Ackles’ charisma and Leitch’s directorial prowess sets high expectations for the reboot. Production for the Ghost Rider reboot is set to begin later this year, with a release date tentatively scheduled for late 2025. As the project moves forward, fans can expect more updates and sneak peeks from the set.

The Walking Dead fave Norman Reedus will potentially be strapping on the leathers and filling up the tank to play Marvel Studio’s Ghost Rider earlier than expected.

According to Giant Freakin Robot, the actor will reportedly make his debut as the character – previously played by Nicolas Cage on the big screen, and Diego Luna on TVs The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D – in next year’s Blade reboot.

No word when The Boondock Saints actor will shoot his scene(s) as Blade has suffered numerous production delays, most recently due to the writers and actors strikes, respectively. There have also been a game of musical chairs being played with the crew with director after director leaving the project; Yann Demange (Lovecraft Country) is the most recent helmer to hop aboard.
