Rome, May 23, IANS For the Euro 2024 tournament next month, Italy’s head coach Luciano Spalletti announced his 30-man preliminary squad on Thursday. Since the start of March, forward Gianluca Scamacca has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in all competitions, helping Atalanta to a record victory in the Europa League on Wednesday.

Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli, who served a seven-month ban for breаking betting regulations, was also included in the team after making a comeback against Bologna on Monday. Owing to injuries, defender Destiny Udogie and striker Nicolo Zaniolo are not on the list.To his 30-man roster, Luciano Spalletti has included uncapped defender Riccardo Calafiori. Bologna has qualified for the Champions League the upcoming season thanks in part to Calafiori’s efforts. Six Inter Milan players make up the squad; AC Milan is not represented. The event has a 26-player maximum per squad, hence four players will have to be cut.Before Euro 2024, Italy will play two friendlies: on June 4 against Turkey and on June 9 against Bosnia. June 15 in Dortmund will see the beginning of the reigning champions’ campaign against Albania.
