Last Saturday, the tragic news of pro golfer Grayson Murray’s death at the young age of 30, shook the world of sports. Underneath the determined and dedicated face, he kept at the golf course, which brought him the glory of a Sony Open title along with two PGA Tour trophies– Murray dealt with serious od anxiety, depression, and addiction throughout his life.
The professional American golfer reportedly pulled out of the Charles Schwab Challenge on Friday due to an illness, while being just two holes away from finishing the second round. He was five-over for the day with a three-straight bogey and three-over for the event.
In a statement released by Murray’s parents, Eric and Terry Murray confirmed the cause of death of Grayson, revealing it to be suicide.
Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.
The Murray family wrote.
They also thanked the PGA Tour for the immense support during the tough time and asked to respect their privacy as they dealt with the tragic loss of their young son.

Grayson’s death was announced by the PGA Tour in a statement released on the official website of the organization on Saturday, May 25. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan also spoke to Grayson’s parents to pause the tournament in honor of the golfer.
However, they refused saying it shall continue.
We were devastated to learn — and are heartbroken to share — that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words. The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.
Jay Monahan said, per the statement
Grayson accomplished two victories on tour, including the Sony Open title which he won earlier this year in the playoffs, against Keegan Bradley and An Byeong-hun. But he rose to fame in 2017 when he won the Barbasol Championship first time.
