The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed the future Queen of Sweden and her husband to Windsor Castle this morning.
Kate looked elegant in a green £1,350 Bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress as she and Prince William posed with Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Crown Prince Daniel, with Sweden’s future Queen adding a festive touch in a cheerful red jacket.
The foursome, all future monarchs and consorts, are planning to attend the Royal Variety performance in London tonight as part of the Swedish royals’ official visit to the UK.
Both Kate and William looked cheerful and betrayed no hint of turmoil behind the scenes amid a difficult week for the Royal Family with the publication of Endgame, with the Dutch edition naming two royals who allegedly made remarks about Archie’s skin colour.
It comes after Omid Scobie today appeared on TV to defend Endgame and immediately refused to take any responsibility for the racism scandal over the naming of two royals in its Dutch translation.

Despite the turmoil, William looked excited to greet his fourth cousin once-removed in the white drawing room of Windsor Castle.
Making sure to keep calm and carry on, the royals also released pictures of the Christmas decorations at their Berkshire home.
Both William and Victoria are descended from Queen Victoria, who is William’s four-times great-grandmother.
Perhaps a nod to his British hosts, Victoria opted for a red Landon’ Boxy Tweed Crop Jacket by Alice and Olivia with a Feminine Silk Blouse with Bow by Swedish brand Stenströms and an Yves Saint Laurent Satchel Bag.
Victoria and Daniel have been enjoying their time in the UK, who have been pulling pints in a pub and visiting a military training camp in East Anglia before heading to a glitzy gala dinner at the Natural History Museum.
When she is crowned, Victoria will become the first reigning queen in the royal family of Sweden since 1818 following the parliamentary change to the Act of Succession that introduced absolute primogeniture.
It comes as Omid Scobie, the Sussexes’ favoured royal reporter has squarely blamed the publisher in the Netherlands – and denied it was part of a money-spinning ‘stunt’ – declaring: ‘I never submitted a book that had those names in it’.
And there was no mea culpa or apology after two royals were accused of being racists in the Dutch edition of his book, with Omid insisting he only had responsibility for the English version.
He said: ‘I’m obviously frustrated, I wouldn’t say I’m upset about it’.

Asked if the Dutch farrago was a ‘stunt to sell books’ in the face of poor reviews, he told ITV‘s This Morning: ‘I wish it was the case’ and that ‘an investigation is underway’. He said: ‘I had never submitted a book that had their names in it, so I can only talk about my version’.
Mr Scobie appearance on the This Morning sofa began with an immediate denial that he is ‘Meghan’s mouthpiece’ or just ‘some mouthy fan’, claiming it is all part of ‘a character assassination’.
In order to hammer home his point he said: ‘I have very little interest in what they’re doing in California. Harry and Meghan are irrelevant to the future of the Royal Family‘.
Denying that he was ‘Meghan’s mouthpiece, he said: ‘I’m not their friend. I’ve never sat down with Meghan or shared information with her’, adding that he is not close with the Sussexes.
