Taylor Swift and Diplo’s bitter feud explained as DJ set to perform at Kelce Jam

As Diplo is gearing up to perform a set at this year’s Kelce Jam musical festival, we’re taking a look back at his bitter feud with Travis Kelce’s famous girlfriend Taylor Swift.

While Taylor is not in the line-up for the 2024 music and food festival, one of the celebrities she received hate from over the years will be. This weekend NFL star Travis will be hosting Kelce Jam honor of the Kansas City Chief’s back-to-back championships. The festival will be held at The Azura Amphitheater and feature performances from some of Travis’ all-time favorite artists including Lil Wayne, 2Chains, and Diplo.

And while they’ve moved past their bad blood now, Diplo – legally Thomas Wesley Pentz – sent some unexpectedly harsh hate Taylor’s way over the past 10 years. And while the Shake It Off hitmaker didn’t directly respond to the criticism herself, fellow pop star Lorde didn’t hold back as she ruthlessly took aim at the famous DJ.

In November of 2014, shortly after the release of Taylor’s hit album 1989, a viral clip of the pop singer dancing circulated online sparking hate from critics everywhere including the famous DJ. The Major Lazer producer brutally Tweeted out: “Someone should make a kickstarter to get Taylor Swift a booty,” and jokingly added a link to a Fundly page to raise money.

And while Taylor didn’t get involved with the online hate herself, pop singer Lorde wouldn’t stand for the uncalled for slander towards Taylor. In response to Diplo’s rude remark, the Ribs hitmaker boldly responded: “@Diplo should we do something about your tiny penis while we’re at it hm.”

Then later in 2017 during an interview with Rolling Stone, Diplo shared his personal disinterest in Taylor’s music and claimed that the type of music she writes is not what “kids” are interested in streaming. He told the news outlet: “Music is in the hands of the kids. Streaming is literally what kids want to listen to over and over again. They want to listen to ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Bodak Yellow.’ They don’t want to listen to, like, ‘Look What You Made Me Do.’” And added: “That music doesn’t relate to them at all. I don’t think it ever did. They were only given that by radio and marketing budgets. I’m impressed with Post Malone. I can relate to him more than Taylor Swift.”
