Four days before the Indiana Fever tips off the 2024 WNBA season, star rookie Caitlin Clark is cheering on a different Indiana team at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Clark was seen in Indianapolis celebrating Tyrese Haliburton’s three-pointer for the Indiana Pacers during Friday’s Game 3 of the conference semifinals against the New York Knicks.
The three marked Haliburton’s fifth of the first two quarters, as well as his second consecutive bucket. He finished the first half with 23 points.
The Pacers, heading into the game facing a 2-0 series deficit to the Knicks, are hoping to turn the series around in Indianapolis.
This isn’t the first time this postseason Clark has been on hand to cheer on the Pacers. She was also present to see Haliburton’s game-winning overtime shot against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of the Pacers’ first-round series.
It looks like Haliburton, who played at Iowa State from 2018 to 2020, and Clark, who set the all-time college basketball scoring record at Iowa last season, will be setting aside their college rivalries as Clark begins her first pro season in Indiana.
Clark is set to play her first regular-season WNBA game on the road against the Connecticut Sun Tuesday before returning to Gainbridge Thursday for her Fever home debut.
